egypt2…
Thursday, February 2nd, 2006just got back from egypt..my thighs are still sore from the camel riding…which remind me to warn anyone out there..if u want to ride a camel..try to limit the ride,to less than 30 minutes…i went for a full 2 hours…and to tell you the truth…it was torture…imagine hanging 2 meters high above the ground balancing just on your buttocks..yess…buttocks…
been to cairo for just 4 short days but..i really enjoyed it…never thought that in such a short time i can learn so much…
cairo..never imagined that it can be “that” busy..life there sure are different from volgograd…cars honking without much reasons give the city music to some ears(i think..not mine)..the car never brakes..they only slows down..so if u have to cross the street.u must learn to be brave…and some skills…never forget the hand gesture..it’s like playing “cop/aci” in the street..hehe
the city is like a blend of ancient and modern..its buildings…transports…even people. cairo is in a pace and phase of its own..it’s like we can see one period overlapping upon another…while in some part one stays..another continues…but to my awe…in all of the mixing and overlapping…cairo is also in harmony…if u really stop and watch…the havoc is like a continuous stream..or breeze..or something that i can’ describe here cause i dunno what the perfect word to use here..but it’s something continuous la…
the people living there can be respected..u see..the living condition there is not to the normal standards(at least not to me)…the earnings are little..the goverment doesn’t help much to it(from what i saw laa)…lots of people are living below poverty line…but to my amazement…they seem not to care about it much…just contend with what they have..and live one day after anoher with smiles on their face…and when they need a rest just drink a cup of tea…
their “serenity” is something that i my self never had and intend to have…insyaAllah…to just be happy with what i have…without concern of what i want to have…calm and relaxed in any situation…
there’s lots more that i have learnt and insyaAllah will learn from that short trip…but already malas to jot down…till nex time…salammm
